We're going to have a BABY! Can you believe it! We couldn't, at first!
Finding out we were pregnant was the shock of the century to us!
My sister, Katyana bought me a maternity shirt and a pregnancy test for me for my birthday as a little joke- who knew that I would need to use it just one month later!
I found out that I was prego on January 31- I was sure that the test was false, so I had to call my sister (of course) to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. It took me about 5 minutes to calm her down and convince her that I was NOT joking! Then I ran to CVS to grab 3 more tests (just to make sure)....sure enough, they were all POSITIVE! I was beside myself EXCITED! Then, all of the sudden, I thought about how I am going to tell Ian! So, I called Katy again, and we figured out the plan of action.
Ian came home from work and informed me that we were going to have a guest! So, I acted like everything was "normal", and after our guest left, I told Ian that I have a special dessert for him in the oven;) He looks at me as if I had 5 heads, and opens up the oven to find a hot dog bun. He pulls it out, examines it a little bit, smells it, and establishes that it is infact a hot dog bun. Then he looks at me again and asks, "What is this"? I said, "Honey, there is a BUN IN THE OVEN!" He stopped, fell to the wall and said "you are kidding me!?!?!" Then he said "wow" for 20 minutes straight:) It took him about 2 days for the news to finally sink in, but once it did, he couldn't be more excited. We may not have expected this pregnancy, but the Lord sure did- and we couldn't feel more blessed. What an absolute miracle!
