**Week 23**

Our Handsome Little Eggplant

Baby's Length: 8.25 inches

Baby's Weight: 1 pound

Baby's Size: Eggplant

I must admit, an eggplant is an odd thing to compare the size of my baby to, but...it works;) I am currently in Indiana- and I must say, our little boy LOVES TO FLY! On my flight from Fort Myers to Atlanta, the child would NOT stop moving and twisting and punching- it was so cute....well, the nauseasness that was created because of it was not cute, but him moving so much was. I had a pregnant lady sitting next to me on the flight, she was 7 months pregnant with a little and she said she has never seen the outside of her belly move as much as mine was moving. She loved watching my belly to see where he was kicking next:) Look.....he's already showing off for the ladies!!

This week is a big growing week for our little one. The baby's proportions are very similar to a newborns, only thinner, as he hasn't begun to form body fat yet. Every day his bones are hardening from cartiledge to real bone (that's why his kicks are getting much stronger;)). Though the eyelids haven't opened yet, his eyes are fully developed. Although, the iris does not have pigmentation quite yet. The little man's pancreas, which is essential for the production of hormones, is developing steadily. He has also begun to produce insulin, important for the breakdown of sugars.

My belly is very tight and itches most of the time. From what I am told this itching is a sign of stretching...the only set back is you aren't supposed to scratch it (it causes stretch marks). Although, there are times, where it is just TOO much and I have to give into temptation:) I've been feeling great this past week. I thought this week was going to be just a normal pregnant week, however I've been wambushed by several embarrassing moments this week of which I'm not going to share- they are just too hystarical! Be on the look out if any of you see me this week, you might just be in for a treat;)

Love you all so much- thank you for the continued prayers for our little eggplant of a man. We treasure them in our hearts.

Leah,
I was so sad that I didn't get to see you when you were home. On Sunday, I went to Indpls to meet my new niece from Ethiopia. Make sure I get to see your cute pregnant belly when you're home in July!
